WORKING TOWARDS GETTING OUT OF BUSINESS - posted ~ - Wednesday, June 19
We have enjoyed being part of a wonderful community of boer goat lovers (producers)for 8 years, but it seems like all good things, this too must come to an end.
Our youngest son has graduated from high school and will soon be off to college leaving us with an empty nest, and, well leaving us with one less worker shoveling the crap around here! We have made the decision to sell out (slowly)by the end of this year.
We enjoy showing and will be at a few shows this year ending with the Mn State Fair, then selling our last goats at the Northern Lights Sale in Pipestone this fall. Tentative date set for the first weekend in October.
Its been an emotional decision because we have poured our lives into these adorable animals, each one named...even when we were up to 130 goats, they all had names! They make me laugh, make me smile and help me feel better after a rough day at the office. These are things I will miss.
Thank you to all our customers over the years. We have met so many wonderful people that we now call good friends. We will try and keep our website updated as we decide to sell certain goats, slowly getting down to the end.
As for our equipment, we will also post these things on our site as well. Don't be surprised if you don't see every item listed as we might hang on to some stuff. Ian hopes to raise goats some day, plus maybe we will get back into it someday again? Never say never right?
If you need to get ahold of me, email is always best

UPDATED WEBSITE PICTURES posted: - Sunday, November 7
We added some pictures of our goats that did well at the MN state fair, and also some county fair photo's on the show page. If you go to the sire page, you may notice that every buck listed is a "reference sire". This is not a typo,we really do not own any bucks at this time. We are hoping to raise our own and possibly choose our next sire from some of the AI kids that will be born this spring! Of course we always have our eyes open, you know our addiction gets the best of us sometimes.
When looking at pictures of the sires or does make sure to click on view profile for additional pictures and information.
I think all our does are bred now. If not by Artificial means, by Robbie!
LAPAROSCOPIC ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION - Saturday, October 16
We are so excited about our new little experiment that took place just 21 days ago. We asked Dr.Justin Luther, ruminant reproductive specialist from U of WI to come and do some Lap. A.I. on 17 of our does. Our friend Kim K brought 2 does over so we did a total of 19 does that day.
We have been holding our breath for the past 3 weeks waiting for this next heat cycle to come around to see if any of them come back in heat, or if they "settled".... so far so good. I didn't expect to get 100%, and now I have seen 2 does get bred by our clean up buck Robbie.
I won't count my chickens yet, I'll wait a few days, but I am excited at the thought of kids that will be coming in February.
We used semen from Bo Jangles, High C Flasher, and Red Cloud.
A few of our does got bred by Tarzan's Superduty before he was sold, and we also have 2 of our does at Sweet Creek being bred to Portfolio's Assets.
BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR SOME GREAT KIDS COMING TO JUST KIDDING GOAT FARM THIS SPRING ~
Can you tell I'm totally addicted to goats? Its hopeless.
SOLD *****POSTED July 15, 2010 BUCK FOR SALE - Friday, July 16
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
We have made the very hard decision to sell our herdsire and very best "pet" Tarzans Superduty.
We are asking $2500, but will consider offers by email.
Let me know if you need more information about him or would like to set up a time to come and look at him. He is an amazing animal. People in the community sometimes stop by the roadside to watch him. Can you tell we love him?
Time for us to get some new genetics to cross with those great Tarzan T66 bloodlines.
We purchased some new does ! - Friday, July 2
Kevin and Heidi made a quick weekend trip down to Corydon, IN to the Fern Hollow Farms dispersal sale. We brought home 3 lovely does, all show quality. We are so excited about our new bloodlines to add to the herd. There were 200 goats to be sold, we viewed them the night before and the morning of the sale......good grief it was so incredibly hot but we wanted to make sure that we would bid on the most correct does we could find! We certainly are obsessed with this love for goats. Who else would CHOOSE to check teats, mouths and pigment on at least 150 goats in the 95 degree heat??? We are sick individuals.

We will discuss topics such as: Disbudding wethers for show, tattoo'ing, how to trim hooves, what should I do with my goat IF......., learning how to lead a goat in the show ring, what does a judge look for, what are the breed standards and what would be a reason to cull (get rid of) a goat? How to milk a goat, what do you feed your goat? All these topics and more because as some of you already know........when you get us talking about goats there isn't much that can shut us up.
If you can let us know you are coming, thats great, but not required.

Pride of Minnesota Boer Goat Sales (posted 2009 - Thursday, March 13
Pride of MN is a group of meat goat producers that have banded together to promote the meat goat industry by holding educational events, wether sales and a fall production sale through out the state of MN. We enjoy helping others learn about showing goats in 4H. We have pooled our talents and resources so we can keep the cost down (advertising) and can also teach others what we as producers- that have been around for a few years- have learned.
We will be in Wadena April 25th for their Livestock Extravaganza. We will be putting on a meat goat informational and hands on clinic to all those that attend.
Email me for more info.

If you come to our farm, or ever meet us somewhere and you have questions about Jesus or questions about what this all means, feel free to ask any of us.
